Have you started thinking about your New Year’s resolutions yet?
Maybe you want to lose weight or start eating healthier.
Instead of committing to the usual resolutions, why not do something different and commit to better oral care?
Here are the perfect dental resolutions for you:
- Schedule a dental appointment. Did you know that approximately 1/3 of people in the U.S. don’t see a dentist yearly? Even if your teeth look and feel fine, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a dentist look to see what you can’t.
- Commit to flossing. Brushing your teeth twice a day is not enough to remove all the plaque. Put a container of floss on your bathroom sink or somewhere that will help you notice it.
- Cut back on the sugar. Swap out the soda for water. Instead of a candy bar, chew a piece of sugarless gum. Think of the alternatives!
- Eat mouth-healthy foods. Dairy products like cheese are high in calcium. Pack some celery for an afternoon work snack instead of potato chips.
Not only will you see your dental health improve, but your overall health as well. Your dentist will be proud of you!
