  2. Your gums hurt. If your gums are puffy, they bleed when you brush or floss, or your family has a history of gum disease, make an appointment.
  3. You’re hiding your smile.
  4. You’ve had work done before. Fillings, crowns, dental implants, or dentures are great reasons to see your dentist regularly to make sure everything is good.
  5. You have ongoing medical issues.
  6. You’re pregnant. It is safe to go to the dentist while pregnant.
  7. You have trouble eating. In other words, if you have difficulty chewing or swallowing, call your dentist immediately!
  8. You have a dry mouth. Are you always feeling thirsty? For instance, it could be a sign of a medical issue or medication side effect.
